Corona, Calif. (March 26, 2010) - The NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series and Bruton Smith take drag racing to another historic level this weekend at the Inaugural Four-Wide NHRA Nationals at the zMax Dragway in Concord, N.C.

Each of the four professional classes (Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle) will run in the four-lane track simultaneously throughout qualifying and the finals on Sunday, as opposed to the normal two-lane drag strips that most tracks contain.

Eibach Springs friend and supporting team of the Primetime Race Group debuted the new Oreca FLM09 Le Mans Challenge car in the 58th running of the 12 Hours of Sebring in Florida the weekend of March 17-20, with the main event on Saturday the 20th.

Primetime Race Group debuted well with the new car in a new class for the organization, the LMP class. Drivers Joel Feinberg and Kyle Marcelli welcomed Tom Weickardt as the third driver for the event.

Only 53 minutes into the race, Feinburg suffered an electrical glitch, resulting in Feinburg striking the turn three tire barrier and force the car into the pits for repairs. The damage was extensive enough for the team to take the No. 11 Braille Battery machine to the team trailer for three hours worth of repairs. Once the repairs were made, Marcelli would take the wheel for the team for 1 hour and 57 minutes before Weickardt piloted the machine for 2 hours and 20 minutes of the event.

Marcelli returned to the wheel for the remaining 1 hour and 57 minutes of the race to put the Primetime Race Group No. 11 atop of the podium in the third position of LMP.

Dirt Track Racing

A winter storm may have postponed the USMTS Casey's General Stores National Tour at West Siloam Speedway in West Siloam Springs, Okla., on the first official day of spring, but the previous night in Oktaha, Okla., racing took place with quite a familiar face landing in victory lane. You guessed it race fans, modified "hot shoe" Jason Hughes graced another USMTS frontstretch victory lane with his presence on Friday, March 19 at the Outlaw Motor Speedway. Hughes, who collected his fourth win in a row, can now boast a 4-0 start to his 2010 racing season. Hughes led all 30 laps in the feature event.

Kelly Shyrock of Fertile, Ia., picked up the win in the Eibach Springs Heat Race No. 4.

The USMTS Casey's General National Tour treks onto Nebraska and Junction Motor Speedway for the 7th Annual Nebraska Spring Thaw this weekend, March 26-27.

FIA World Rally Championship

Following a fax vote by the members of the World Motor Sport Council, the sporting regulations for tyres in the 2011 FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) have been approved to allow any tyre manufacturer to supply tyres. This reflects a desire to have greater association with road relevant technologies, environmental sustainability in motor sport, while maintaining cost control. Additionally, it will provide greater freedom for amateur competitors in the WRC.
